The Right Way to Disinfect Your Phone and Other Electronics

With everyone spending so much time at home, it's no wonder that our phones and electronics are getting dirtier than ever. Sure, we can clean them with a cloth every now and then, but what else should be done? Keeping your phone, laptop, and other electronics germ-free is essential for the health of you and your family. Here is an overview of how to properly disinfect your phone and other electronics.

What You Need to Clean Your Phone and Electronics:

The most important thing you need when cleaning any device is a lint-free microfiber cloth. This will ensure that you do not damage the display or scratch the case while wiping away germs. You may also need a cotton swab or alcohol wipes if needed (more on this later).  Additionally, make sure to use a non-aerosol cleaner that does not contain ammonia or abrasives.  Don’t forget to turn off your device before you start wiping!

Steps for Properly Disinfecting Your Phone:

1. Start by using a lint-free microfiber cloth to wipe down the surface of your device with a non-aerosol cleaner; make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies that may have accumulated dust or grime over time. Use circular motions when wiping in order to ensure that you don’t miss anything!

2. If necessary, use an alcohol wipe or cotton swab dipped in 70% isopropyl alcohol solution (or higher) to clean any stubborn areas like ports, buttons, speakers, mics, etc… Allow the solution to sit on these areas for at least 30 seconds before wiping them off with the microfiber cloth.

3. Once you’re done cleaning all the visible surfaces of your device, make sure all surfaces are dry before powering it back up!

4. Finally (and most importantly!), remember to wash your hands thoroughly after handling any electronic devices!  This will ensure that any bacteria or viruses that may have been transferred from one device to another via contact are eliminated from your hands as well!

5. Repeat this process regularly to keep all of your devices clean and germ-free!  It’s especially important during flu season or times when illnesses are more prevalent in your area – better safe than sorry!

Conclusion

Keeping our phones and other electronics clean is something we should all be doing in order keep ourselves healthy and safe from germs or bacteria. By following these steps outlined here today—using appropriate cleaners, tools like lint free cloths & cotton swabs/alcohol wipes—you can guarantee that you are taking all of the necessary precautions when it comes to disinfecting not just our phones but also other electronic devices around our homes too! Remember–stay safe & stay healthy everyone!
